Goals for Neuro-otology Fellow:

  1. Gain familiarity with normal appearance of brain, tumor and neural structures submitted to pathology.
  2. Learn to evaluate and document common histopathologic disorders of the brain, posterior fossa, temporal bone, and skull base.
  3. Learn importance of clinician-pathologist communication including achieving proper orientation for temporal bone specimens, and cranial nerves.
  4. Begin to appreciate the gross and histologic appearance of common and unusual intracranial, temporal bone and skull base tumors.
  5. Know the indications and recognize staining characteristics of benign and malignant tumors of the temporal bone and skull base.
